NEEDS ATTENTION
Automated candidate filtering

Your process uses AI to filter applications before human review. This use deserves closer assessment.

Human oversight

The current process may not provide sufficiently clear human review and override procedures.

AI tool inventory

Your organisation has identified the main AI tools used during recruitment.

A real result is generated from your own answers. This example is illustrative only.
The problem

AI is entering recruitment faster than many internal processes can keep up.

Recruiters are adopting AI for sourcing, CV analysis, ranking, screening and decision support. The harder question is whether the organisation understands how those tools are actually being used.

1
CV screening

AI is analysing or filtering applications before a recruiter sees them.

2
Candidate ranking

Tools assign scores, rankings or recommendations that influence hiring decisions.

3
AI-assisted interviews

AI is used to evaluate interview responses, assessments or candidate behaviour.

4
Unclear human oversight

Teams may be relying on automated recommendations without a clearly documented review process.

5
Vendor uncertainty

HR teams may not know what documentation or safeguards to request from their AI vendors.

6
Missing governance

Responsibility, monitoring, documentation and escalation procedures may not yet be formalised.

Why assess now?

Employment is one of the areas specifically addressed by the EU AI Act.

Certain AI systems intended for recruitment, selection and candidate evaluation can fall within the AI Act’s high-risk framework, depending on their intended purpose and actual use.

The rules for Annex III high-risk systems are scheduled to apply from 2 December 2027. Preparing does not begin with a legal document. It begins by understanding where AI is used, who controls it, how humans supervise it and what evidence already exists.

Important: not every AI tool used by an HR team is automatically a high-risk system. Classification depends on the specific system, intended purpose and way it is deployed.

The readiness check helps you answer questions such as:

  • Where is AI actually used in our recruitment workflow?
  • Does it screen, rank, score or evaluate candidates?
  • Can an AI output materially influence a hiring decision?
  • Does a human meaningfully review the result?
  • Can recruiters override AI recommendations?
  • Do we know which vendors and systems are involved?
  • Do we have useful internal documentation?
  • Which areas deserve deeper review first?

FAQ

Common questions

Does every company using AI in recruitment have a high-risk AI system?

No. The classification depends on the intended purpose and actual use of the particular AI system. The assessment is designed to identify situations that may deserve closer review rather than automatically classifying every HR AI tool as high-risk.

What types of AI use does the assessment look at?

Examples include AI-assisted sourcing, CV analysis, application filtering, ranking, scoring, candidate evaluation, interview-related tools, automated recommendations and decision support.

When do the EU AI Act high-risk rules apply?

Under the current EU implementation timeline, the rules for high-risk AI systems listed in Annex III are scheduled to apply from 2 December 2027. Other parts of the AI Act have different application dates.

Do I need to upload candidate CVs?

No. The assessment evaluates your organisation’s process and controls. The initial product does not require CVs, candidate files or identity documents.

Is the free assessment really free?

Yes. You can complete the assessment and see an initial readiness result without purchasing the full report.

What do I receive for €79?

You receive a personalised PDF containing your readiness summary, findings generated from your answers, areas requiring attention, governance observations, vendor due-diligence questions, prioritised next actions and relevant official source references.

Do I need to create an account?

No. The product is designed without a customer account requirement. Purchased reports are delivered automatically by email and through a secure private download link.

Is this legal advice or an official EU AI Act certification?

No. HRYP AI Hiring Readiness is an automated readiness and process assessment. It is not a law firm, conformity assessment body or official certification service, and the report does not replace professional legal advice where that is required.

Built around authoritative EU sources

The assessment framework is designed to reference official European Union material rather than relying on marketing summaries or unsupported AI output.
